CAAHTT Accomplishments
United in Professional Pride
The Canadian Association of Animal Technologists and Technicians
was founded in 1989 by representatives of the provincial associations
in Canada. Following that, the associations worked collectively
to establish a common national exam, reciprocity for the members,
mandatory continuing education and increased communication between
the associations. CAAHTT has continually sought information and
planned for results that will positively impact the future of AHT/RVT/VT’s
in Canada. It is the joining of these provincial associations that
makes CAAHTT truly a national body discussing issues with a national
focus and playing an integral part in international issues. CAAHTT
has established relationships with influential associations and
companies such as the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association
(CVMA), National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America
(NAVTA) of the United States, the International Veterinary
Nurses and Technicians Association (IVNTA) and Hill’s
Pet Nutrition Canada Inc. AHT/RVT of the Year Award.

CAAHTT is unique in that all active registered technicians in Canada
play an indirect and vital role in the progress of this association.
With the continued support of its member associations, CAAHTT will
continue to grow in its role for promotion of technicians all across
